Waylon Pahona is trainer, motivational speaker and founder of the group Healthy Active Natives. He shares stories of inspiration from the Native community and sends some of them to us to share.

Nikki Lowe is Creek, Seminole and Chickasaw who is originally from Oklahoma but grew up in Arizona. She is a mother of two children -- Nokose and Mvhayv. Nikki has been fighting on and off since 2010, went 5-3 as an amateur and currently 0-2 as a pro. She turned pro in 2014 with Jackson/Winklejohn's Gym out of Albuquerque, NM.

Back in March 2015 she broke her fibula on her right leg and snapped a tendon in her right foot in August of 2015. From there she decided to just let her body heal but recently started to train again in the summer of 2016 when she found out she was pregnant. Unfortunately, she lost the baby.

Nikki has been through many obstacles but she has not let everything that she has been through stop her. She is a true champ and inspiration for many Native/Indigenous women.
