All Tanka Products are 100% Natural, never use Preservatives, Erythorbates, Potassium Sorbate, Fillers, or Artificial Flavors. Most are Certified Gluten-Free by the Gluten Free Certification Organization (GFCO). They also contain NO Hormones or Antibiotics, and NO MSG. There are NO added Nitrites or Nitrates. At Native American Natural Foods, we follow the stringent Whole Foods product approval list.

Lactic acid starter culture:


The lactic acid starter culture used in Tanka products is 100% plant-based. Because Tanka products are all-natural, we do not use common preservatives like added nitrites and MSG. Instead, the acid from the fruit helps preserve the meat. In addition, we also use lactic acid starter culture to help kick-start the preservation process. Our lactic acid starter culture is not made from dairy sources and is therefore safe for people with milk allergies. Our starter culture is primarily made from celery juice and citrus juice, and it helps create the natural preservative that keeps Tanka products from spoiling.

Our allergen protocol:


At Native American Natural Foods, we take extra precautions to ensure that our products are contaminant and allergen-free. Our Tanka Bites, Tanka Bars and Tanka Sticks are produced at USDA-certified plants where the equipment and work surfaces are cleaned before and after each product separation.

All cleaning chemicals are approved for food-grade facilities by the USDA and are used to clean equipment, working surfaces, smokehouses, walls and floors. All of our Natural products are stored in a 'Gluten Free' warehouse. Our racks are cleaned in a hot water steam bath for sanitation. We take all HACCP steps and precautions to avoid cross contamination.

Sodium:


At Native American Natural Foods, we are very aware that some consumers can be Sodium sensitive, and like to watch their Sodium intake for various reasons. Because of this, we try to keep our Sodium as low as possible in our products. While most dried meat products and jerky on the market are packed full of Sodium or high salt additives, we are proud to say we are much lower in sodium than the industry-leading brands.
