Happy Indigenous Peoples Day!

Cities across the country from Portland to St. Paul are switching out Columbus Day for Indigenous Peoples Day.

This change creates an opportunity to celebrate the survival and vibrancy of Indigenous communities despite centuries of concerted oppression. South Dakota celebrates the second Monday in October as Native American Day and commemorates the date with the annual Black Hills Pow-Wow. That's where we launched the Tanka Returns campaign one year ago! The circle of support for the buffalo's return keeps growing each day, and we are so thankful you are part of this circle!

In honor of Indigenous Peoples Day, please consider making a gift to help return buffalo to Indigenous communities. Your donation will help undo a legacy of injustice and create a better future full of health and hope. Wopila Tanka (Big Thanks) for your support for the return!

Tanka Fund Re-Joins Neil Young's The Monsanto Years Tour!

We're back on the road with legendary rocker Neil Young, whose tour is a musical rally cry against industrial agriculture and GMOs. Our volunteers are talking with hundreds of fans about the antithesis of industrial agriculture -- bringing buffalo back to Indian Country! It was the extermination of the buffalo that opened the west to cattle and grain tycoons -- now we have an opportunity to renew the health of the land and the people by restoring buffalo.

Thank you to Neil and his band for having us and please come out and see us if you are at an upcoming show!
